Our History
Since opening our doors in July of 2004, we've been proud to serve good food and friendly service in a casual atmosphere. And it wasn't long before people noticed. In 2005 we were honored with the Longfellow Business Association's Diane Radtke Award for best new business.
Over the past six years we are honored to have been able to give back to the surrounding community through sponsorship of numerous events and organizations (see list).
We offer breakfast, lunch and dinner with a wide variety of homemade favorites, as well as a To Go and Catering menu. Along with our menu, we have a full bar with cocktails, wine and beer, specialty and regional drinks.
In the winter of 2006 we added the "Smoking Caboose", an old train car from the Minnesota Transportation Museum. The fully restored railcar now serves as a unique seating area, with antique brass fixtures and beautiful wood paneling.
Whether you're already in the neighborhood or just looking for a great place in South Minneapolis to enjoy some food or drinks, we invite you to stop by. You're always welcome at The Rail Station!
